Bradford Franklin was born many years ago (or as he would put it, at a very early age) , survived the usual run of childhood illnesses and school crises and finally made it to college where he studied Radio and Television Arts.  Weekend and summer jobs with assorted radio stations (he maintains he is too ugly for television), plus those years of college study, resulted in a series of jobs at progressively larger radio outlets, eventually leading to a stint as a political reporter on Parliament Hill in Ottawa.  Along the way he also got married to wife Wendy, fathered to sons, Travis and Scott, bought a succession of cars and houses and generally comported himself as an up-and-coming member of society.  He also became somewhat jaded with being on radio and, after several years spent chasing politicians around Parliament Hill, took a job in Public Affairs with the federal government.  This move launched a second career that was to last some 18 years (roughly the same duration as his radio work) before culminating in early retirement.  By that time the two boys had struck out on their own so Brad and Wendy moved to a condominium on Vancouver Island, which they had purchased several years earlier.
